SIP Roof
150mm 0r 175mm Structural Insulated Panel
The Build It Green SIP Roof consists of large SIP panels which span between structural roof beams and wall plate. This creates an insulated warm roof which is ideally suited to create a room in the roof or a thermally insulated vaulted ceiling.
The SIP roof panels are constructed from 2mm x 12mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB/3) and 126mm or 151mm rigid Polyurethane insulation core. They have excellent thermal performance with U-Values as low as 0.14 (W/m2K) or better.
The SIP panels are pre-engineered in a controlled factory environment and delivered to site ready for assembly.
For large roof spans the SIP panels are usually used in conjunction with glulam roof beam supports. Pre-engineered SIP Dormers can also be incorporated in to the roof structure.
The final stage of roof construction is to apply roof membrane or felt, battening and Roof Finishes.
On the inner face of the SIP roof panel a plaster board lining is applied to achieve the required fire and acoustic performance. For further details see Technical Information.
Please note that Services & Plasterboard are not included within the SIP Building System.
