Ceiling Carcass
The ceiling carcass is a flat ceiling used to close off the apex of a roof for either aesthetic reasons or to provide loft storage. This is not a load bearing floor and in common day parlance is often referred to as a suspended ceiling.
Typically the ceiling carcass is constructed on site using timber ceiling joists fixed between walls or purlin (glu-lam or steel beams) using steel brackets. This is then finished with plasterboard lining to the underside of the ceiling carcass.
Please note that Services & Plasterboard are not included within the SIP Building System.
SIP Building System
My advice to anyone considering self-build is simple. Only use SIP technology and only use Build It Green to do it!More testimonials
