Project Description
The existing building was built between 1906 and 1910 for the Tyne Ship Building and Steam Company and used as a marine chandlers and sail loft.
One of the interesting and challenging aspects of this project was the SIP construction of two accommodation blocks and bistro over a Grade 2 listed Victorian tunnel. Careful design and sequenced planning was required for the foundation and bridging works led by Michael Phillips Architects Ltd.
