Project Description

This project consists of the conversion of a Grade II Listed Building and the construction of two additional three storey accommodation blocks.

The site is constructed on a Roman Burial ground therefore careful planning and close liaison with the Council Archaeologists was required by Michael Phillips Architects Ltd. The lightweight SIP Building System reduced the foundation depths compared with traditional construction which was of significant benefit to this project

The SIP constriction for both accommodation blocks was completed within 7 weeks which enabled the main contractor to complete the build ahead of their programme. This resulted in Build It Green being awarded a further Hotel Du Vin project, located in Newcastle.
