Project Description

This imposing residence is one of two identical dwellings designed by OB Architecture is set over three stories and located in Hedge End, Southampton.

Build It Green SIP panels form the external walls and roof with the internal walls constructed from timber frame studwork.

Structural steelwork is integrated within the ground floor walls and two pre engineered timber I-joist structural floors were installed at first and second floor levels. Two steel cranked frames at both gable ends and a steel ridge beam complete the steel elements within this build.

Externally this property benefits from first and second floor balconies.

Eco elements of the building include, High Performance Aluminum Clad Windows, MVHR, under floor heating and a wood burning stove.

The external cladding consisted of cedar boards and Rockpanel Facade / Rainscreen Cladding.

There are qualities sought but rarely found in a company. Quality of materials and workmanship, attention to detail, a thoroughly professional approach all wrapped in friendliness, understanding, pragmatism, flexibility and above all patience. I am a serial 'Self Builder' and have built using traditional materials and techniques and traditional 'stick built' timber frame. This was my first use of SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) and I am delighted with both the product and Build It Green who supplied and installed it. So much so I will be ordering again from Build it Green in a few weeks. Peter McMurray
