Project Description

Maximising the potential for the development of an existing commercial property and accommodation above, these two additional studio flats extending to the rear of the existing building were constructed in Richmond, London.

A ground floor steel frame provided the platform for an engineered I-joist structural floor at first floor level with further structural I-joists at second floor level. Both the first and second floor units used Build It Green Structural Insulated Panels for their external walls and the structural envelope was completed with our SIP panels also forming the roof.

In addition to the SIP frame, Build It Green supplied and installed a Marmorit Brick Slip System fixed to a euroform render board which in turn was fastened to timber battens fixed directly to the outer face of the SIP panels. Other finishes included timber sash windows, Velux roof lights with kerb upstands and a waterproof single ply membrane for the flat roof.
