Project Description

Constructed in Salisbury, Wiltshire, this two storey extension provides extra living accommodation to this charming cottage set in an idyllic rural location.

The first floor rooms are vaulted throughout with Glulam structural beams left exposed as features to add to the aesthetics of the property. The use of Build It Green Structural Insulated panels for the external walls and roof has ensured that every inch of internal space is habitable, something that is not easily achieved using traditional roof truss construction.

Externally the walls were finished with render at ground floor level and timber weather boarding at first floor level, providing a clever contrast where the existing cottage meets the new extension.
