Project Description

This development of nineteen flats above a large commercial office space is located at the centre of the busy and vibrant high street in Slough, London.

The ground floor and basement levels are a mix of both concrete and structural steel with a podium concrete slab at first floor level. A structural steel frame supporting the Build It Green SIP wall panels continues up through the building to the underside of the SIP roof panels which form an intricate mansard style roof.

The curved wall to the front of the building was created using a series of timber stud partitions manufactured in faceted sections. The faceted sections where then wrapped externally in two staggered sheets of plywood to leave a perfectly curved finish.

A brick slip system was applied to the outside of the external walls giving the illusion of a traditional brick and cavity constructed building.
